About Barnes Design
After setting up his own architectural firm; Young Designs, stints with architectural practices; John Simpson and partners and Tony Rivers Architects, as well as four years as a project architect at the national house and flat building company, McCarthy & Stone, Toby Young took over Barnes Associates and formed Barnes Design in May 2000.
Designer, Kelly Robinson joined the company in 2000 and now heads up the interior design side of the company. Kelly works in conjunction with the architectural side, on all projects, providing a wholly design integrated approach to the projects.
Based in South West London, in a converted stables, the company began designing rear and side extensions, loft conversions, commercial and retail outlets; gaining all its projects through word of mouth. Toby’s ethos has always been ‘keep it simple’. This coupled with our excellent customer service, approachability and flexibility ensures you remain in control of your project.
