Acquisition of this Victorian subterranean toilet block directly adjacent to Clapham Common tube station was laborious for our clients however once our design work got underway we believe this spurred them on to achieve the goal.
The renovation of the small space was guided by the elaborate Victorian decoration and ornamental adornment which covered much of the fittings within the WC. We used this as the staring point and together with the builders developed a simplistic design to enhance its existing design detail but also fit its current purpose – a popular and award-wining wine & charcuterie bar.
